What's an alternative to a hoodie, for kids? Something equally comfy, matches with most things (well navy or black pants), and washes well?
Oh, and they insist on a zipper, they hate pulling sweaters over their head. I just feel like it doesn't have that polished look sometimes....or maybe it's really fine? |
I have boys who hate pullover sweaters, so I've gotten them zip up sweaters, and I think it looks fine for shabbat. Something like this:

or this:
http://www.landsend.com/produc.....::BLA
Which reminds me that I need to order one for my oldest son...
ETA - I've only ordered these from land's end (the second link) and have been very impressed with how well they hold up, even for my rough-and-tumble boys.

The reason I ask is because it can be done for shabbos with a camel leggings, but it's not that dressy. But if he's walking and he wears it with an Oxford shoe or a venettini type moccasin, that will definitely dress it up. |
I have that sweater - just to warn you, it starts out being OK for shabbos, but once you've washed it twice, it starts to look more casual. He wore it for nicer everyday (think Chol Hamoed) with a shirt under and camel corduroys (skinny ones I think from Zara)

Had a really hard time finding appropriate clothes for my 6 and ten year olds DDs that are long enough tzniuswise. I checked BP stores and online. Any suggestions of something nice, stylish, and tznius?
Also, stylish everyday outfits, preferably under $30 for top &/or skirt or dress (which also needs to be significantly below knee).

Thanks!
Last question (maybe?)
What color sweater or cardigan to go with these pants
http://www.zara.com/us/en/kids......html
and this shirt, in off white
http://www.zara.com/us/en/kids......html
for 18 month old boy?
I'm getting stuck on whether I should try to match to charcoal grey, or is black safer? or maybe another color would pull everything together?
Thanks!!

Question about shopping online at Zara. They have a lot of cute dresses, but I can't figure out how long they are. It's hard to tell if they hit below or at the knee, or are super short. How do you figure this out? My DD is 10 and they have some cute stuff but I don't want to order a lot of things that are all too short.

I just ordered Zara's dresses. My 5 yo dd wears size 5 generally. The size 7 dress hit just at the top of the knee, which is good enough for me. Problem was, the width was huuuuge.
The size 5 dress was ridiculously short. If she bent over you'd see her tush.
I also tried the size 6 on my 4 yo, same story
This was the dress:

tried this one first, actually, but then I thought maybe it was too big in the width because it's pleated, but that didn't make a difference:

I think the fashion now is for over the knee dresses. I just went to H&M and every single dress or skirt (except for one, which I just ordered) was over the knee.

Love them and tried to order them but almost none of them are left in the size I need! If you have any other ideas it would be great but I appreciate what you've done already. . .

To all those asking about girls dresses that cover the knee , I can't really help with that because they don't really sell those in non jewish stores. What I suggest is to try Junee jr or Fallon's as those places cater to the frum world. Another idea, is to try the sock store for skirts, they have huge selections with tons of colors. Then Match up a top from Zara or next direct.

What is the sock store? I assume it's a store in Brooklyn? Wondering if they have a website?
Thanks again!

There are a few new dresses and a skirt at next direct that are knee length and you would only have to size up one size to cover knees. They are not the cheapest dresses at next, more like $50s-70s
