Teriyaki Mushrooms:
1 Tablespoon oil
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 (10oz) package baby bella mushrooms
1/2 Cup sugar
1/4 Cup rice vinegar
3 Tablespoons soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 teaspoons cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon cold water
2 Tablespoons cashews
1 scallion chopped
Heat oil, add onion and saute 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally. Add mushrooms and saute 5 additional minutes. Remove mushrooms and onions from pan.
Add sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce and garlic to pan. Bring to a boil then stir in cornstarch mixture. Cook until sauce thickens, about 6-8 minutes.
Return mushrooms and onions to pan and toss to combine. Toss with cashews and scallions before serving.
Notes: It doesn't make that much (although the recipe says it serves 4) so I usually double the amount of mushrooms. However, there is no need to double the sauce as there is plenty even if using 2 boxes of mushrooms. I would only double the sauce if using 3 or more boxes of mushrooms.
I used frozen garlic cubes not fresh garlic. I also often leave out the cashews and scallions and it's fine without them. If you do use the cashews don't put them in until right before serving, otherwise they get soggy.
Enjoy!

So, when I posted this recipe I said I couldn't vouch for it as I had never made it before. Well. I made this last night for shabbos, and personally, I felt it tasted somewhat bland. I tried to add some additional pepper and even some salt to give it more flavor but it didn't do too much. It wasn't bad, just bland. I prefer foods that are somewhat more flavorful. Just a heads up in case you wanted to know how it ended up coming out.

3 meals.
But the cole slaw, cucumber salad and marinated salad are just to keep in the fridge for munching, not necessarily for the meals.

Thanks! I forgot to specify how many meals the menu is for (or that the Simanim plates are only for the first night). I guess it looked like too many vegetables for one meal

Sure! Sliced onions in pan. Minute steak on top. Pour some water around the sides and drizzle a bit of light olive oil on top.
Smear top of steak with crushed garlic and season very, very generously with kosher salt. 325 for 2.5 - 3 hours, tightly covered.
If you want a sauce, add it in the last half hour of baking, and leave the meat uncovered during that time.

Combine 1/3 cup ketchup, 2.5 tablespoons orange juice, 2.5 packed tablespoons dark brown sugar, onion, salt & pepper. Use as glaze over meat.

Dip cauliflower in scrambled egg. Dip in seasoned breadcrumbs (I like Jason's, it has no fat or msg) -- or matza meal mixed with with salt and maybe some garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley flakes.
Deep fry in canola or peanut oil. Drain.
Simple.
