I'm REALLY trying to work on my temper. Perhaps over the past few years I've made some progress, but every Rosh Hashanah I stand Davening saying I'm going to improve this year more than before. Logically, I know and have read multiple articles and books and assorted chapters in books related to dealing with anger. I know the multiple damaging effects, how it can ruin many things in such a short amount of time..etc. I could write a book on the damaging effects of a quick temper and how badly it can ruin someone's life. My problem is that when I'm IN THE MOMENT I just can't pull it back. The anger gets so overwhelming its SO hard to regain control of myself.
I'm DESPERATE for help, tools, methods to deal with this. If anyone has any book recommendations of real, practical, timely advice, particularly pertinent to someone who has a full time job, children, financial issues, ... (Basically real life) I'd really appreciate it!
Thank you!

Hi OP, this is something I struggle with too. I've tried various anger management reading material but still struggle inside. I realized that I need to deal with my childhood, where the anger comes from. I joined a 12 step program called ACA for adult children of dysfunction and I am dealing with my feelings and learning about myself and my triggers.
