My 6yr old is complaining a lot that his foot hurts when standing. I suspect he may have flat feet, I'm not sure if that's what's causing him pain.
Firstly, do I need to see a podiatrist or an orthopedic Dr.? Google has me thinking podiatrist but I'm wondering if anyone has experience.
Secondly, is there such a thing as a pediatric podiatrist?
Thirdly, any good recommendations? We have regular private insurance.
Any info will be appreciated.

An orthopedist is a bone doctor of the whole body. A podiatrist is a bone doctor that specializes in feet. I did alot of research on this. Just to give you an example before a doctor graduates residency they have to do a few hundred surgeries. an orthapedist has to do just approx 10 on the feet and the remaining on rest of body. A podiatrist has to do approx 300 all on the feet.
alot of the older podiatrist didn't do surgery they werent as trained back then. The standards these day are much higher. Today every podiatrist is surgically trained.

Dr stuart birnbaum is an expert podiatrist and a very warm person, good with children.

There is no such a thing. I used Dr Edelstein in BP he is very good with kids
