I use it for portion control, to help me see exactly what a normal portion should look like.

baking if the recipe is written out in weight or if I need to divide something into equal portions.
I weigh my food sometimes for portion control (especially cereal and ice cream)
sometimes if I'm only making part of a package where the directions are written for the whole box (like box of rice or couscous or a brownie mix) I'll measure it out and do the math to see how much of the other ingredients to add.
once in a while for envelopes to see how many stamps to put on.

I like it because it has a high enough weight limit for most recipes, small enough increments for weighing things like salt and baking powder, a display which is somewhat forward from the platform so I can see it when a bowl is on top, and easy switching between metric and non-metric measurements. |
Thank you for the info, cm.
