I need to dress up some schnitzel for YT and am looking for a great sauce. I've made pineapple schnitzel and the honey-garlic one from Bayis, but DH really doesn't go for sweet schnitzel too much. Any non-sweet schnitzel recipes out there?

You can do a classic Asian brown garlic sauce with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, water, cornstarch... There is usually a bit of sugar in there but it's a savory sauce and not sweet.

Thanks a lot! I should've mentioned that DH doesn't like mushroom either.

Youre looking for a sauce to pour over breaded and baked schnitzel? Maybe Dougie's popper sauce- its a mix of honey and red hot sauce. If you get the mixture right, it's not sweet- it's intense, not mild.

Try equal measures of ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard with a handful of sesame seeds. Tastes and looks great and can't be much easier.

Long way: Cut schnitzel in chunks. Lightly coat in flour, dip in egg, then into bread crumbs mixture and fry on medium heat for about 3 minutes per side. (You can freeze at this point and do rest on Yom Tov). Mix 3 T. of each ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard with the sesame seeds. Boil. Add fried schnitzel chunks and cook another couple of minutes until thoroughly hot.
Short way: Mix the ketchup, mayonnaise, mayonnaise and mustard with sesame seeds in a disposable foil dish. Add the schnitzel chunks. Bake uncovered for 25 mins in preheated oven on 450F/230C.

Thanks, everyone! I got some great ideas from here and am probably going to make up my own recipe based on everything I've seen here. You were all a big help!
