Wine/whiskey good idea!
A tie? cuff-links? Nice socks?
You are such a loving and thoughtful wife!

To your husband? do you get presents for kids' bdays? I wouldn't consider it. Enough spending already, and he may well not understand the thing. I would be very surprised myself

Iy"h when you make a barmitzva/wedding and your dh buys you a gift as an appreciation for your hard work in raising your kid to this stage, hopefully you will fully understand and appreciate it/him.

Firstly Mazal Tov! This is a beautiful simcha and a special time. I'm with amother-amethyst and Liebs idea. If your dh likes wine get him a nice bottle wine. Good luck and lots of nachas.

Thanks for your replies, I too was thinking of wine and wanted to hear of other ideas.
A first child bar mitzva is a very special time. And I feel we both deserve appreciation for the work we put into raising our child!
