I think we may be ready for a live in, as b'h we finally have some space and with a serious sn child and little ones there is definitely what to do.
She'd need to cook, clean, and help with the kids, and do some specific things with the sn child.
But I have no experience with live ins. Are they legal? How much do they get? Where's the line where work time "ends" for them? Do you establish vacation/break days, or does it go with the flow? How do you even find one? How much of their own space do they get? (TV? We're a no tv house. They're own food/fridge/stove?) And other questions I can't even think of...
Anyone with experience to share regarding employing a live in, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

As to legality, yes it is legal to have a live-in. Assuming they are in the country legally and you are paying them on the books, it's all legal.
You negotiate what your needs are. There is no set rule about hours, t.v., food, etc.
Word of mouth is a good way to find someone but you can also go through an agency - though they may sometimes charge you a big finders fee.

Thank you coffee amother - I'd love to read real life examples of how these things are worked out with a live in, if that would be possible from anyone reading this post.
I was also wondering why I got a hug...?
