I use a gourmia hotplate and it works great. Its my second one in about 4 years, which I believe is normal.

I double checked. It is Israheat. And it should last you longer than a few years.

I stack some items, and place pans of food I just want warm but not overcooked on top of other pans. I don't use a very big one during the year (4 people).
Place the hot plate on the counter. Electronic devices shouldn't go on top of a stove top.
