Not op but I am also trying to figure out. As I am taking my parents and they prefer to go not when its midwinter vacation since everything is packed then.

If you are looking to avoid crowds you are best off going between Jan 1st when most public schools are going back from their break and the third week in January when the east coast Yeshiva's have break. My grandparents always used to like going away in February if that's an option for you and your parents.

My children always have winter vacation the last 2 weeks of July. Does that help LOL ?

One child has Jan 19-27, I have Jan 27-31, two children have Feb 3-7, and I'm not sure if/when my boys have.

Wow!!!! If your boys don't coincide with your vacation days, you should really go on vacation so that you have the energy for all those off days the kids have!!!
