Soooo Slow! | Imamother

I have a very cheap but still pretty new laptop that came with Windows 8 and I believe I upgraded to Windows 10. I have never had such a ridiculously obnoxiously slow computer! I just realized it's not the internet that's slow, but specifically the free "aps" on the computer- I use sticky notes, notepad, and Paint pretty often. Is there some way to fix this, or an alternative I can download for each of these (or even better, as a package) for free? Is this a normal issue or because it was a really cheap computer my father found for me on a sale site? I am pretty sure it was just as bad before the upgrade- I think that's why I did it. This has been basically from Day 1. Pressing "Search" at the bottom, as well as saving and opening files also takes a very very VERY long time sometimes. I should probably restart/shut down more often (usally do it once/twice per week). Anything else I can do???
