If I want to submit an article to a magazine to be published not for pay - can I send it off to several magazines in the hope that one will publish it? Or do you send to one magazine at a time? If the reply is negative, then you send to another magazine? Can the article still be posted on an online website such as a community blog?

It's best to send to one at a time and wait for replies. Every magazine will first confirm that your piece has not been submitted elsewhere or published elsewhere. So I guess that answers your second question too Smile
