I am upgrading the setting for my engagement ring, and I was just told my MIL is going to be giving me her wedding band (eternity-ring type style). I want to keep wearing my wedding band, possibly as a necklace. I was thinking about engraving something, possibly setting it with birthstones or something - will this look tacky?
Any thoughts or ideas are welcome!

a wedding band is the one you get married with ... I am sentimental like that
although more confused as to why you would want to wear your mother-in-laws wedding band

I am sentimental about it which is why I still want to wear it. Basically my ring will not go well with the new one, and (I think she is looking to upgrade) my mother in law's is much nicer - mine is plain gold, hers has diamonds all around. It will go much better with the new setting. We are resizing the ring - lol it will never fit on her finger again so that really makes it not hers
