my 13 yr. old son has ADD he is always making a mess he takes out 6 seforim at a time and doesn’t put them back, piles of cd disks books, papers etc., I remind him to return e/t to its place and he gets all upset that I am bugging him and he will SOON do it- soon can take a week!
It so hard to keep the house in order with him around
Any tips on helping him become neater?
It’s affecting the other children they straighten up and he messes up!!cry:
Anyone in this situation?

Sometimes, a posted sign is seen as less intrusive than a verbal demand.
Also, it helps to provide a window, rather than just either insist on immediate compliance, or leave it to him to get around to whenever.
"In 10 minutes.."
"Before you leave this room..."
"After you finish X, but before you start the next activity.."
And -- this is key -- be sure to notice and praise him every time he does it.

I was like this.
My parents made me the teenager equivalent of a sticker chart - I had a chart for a variety of tasks and I got money for every x number of checks on the chart. Worked quite well. Wish I had someone to do it for me now
