I just watched the painful video of the boy who was hit by a car in Crown Heights. It's so difficult to watch but I almost want to show it to my 7 year old son as a warning. Am I crazy? Is it better not to do that?

Oh G-d, I just watched it too. I just want to hug my kids.
Personally, I wouldn't show it to my 7 year old daughter. She happens to be sensitive and perceptive and I don't think it would be good. I don't know... maybe in the right context but my gut says NO. She doesn't cross streets by herself yet, though. But even if she would. I would rather talk about it than show her the video.

If you are in NYC call the PD about hosting a Safety City at their school. This is good reinforcement for kids and traffic safety. If not in NYC check with your local PD, most offer Safety Town/City in the public schools. See if they will participate at your childs school.
