I have a daughter named Kayla after my grandmother. The Yiddish spelling is kuf yud yud lamed aleph. The Hebrew spelling is kuf yud lamed heh.
I don't know what your circles are but Kayla is a very popular name right now from RW MO to yeshivish people.

I don't see how that works with my knowledge of Lashon HaKodesh/Hebrew vocabulary and grammar.
"Who is like G-d" instantly translates to Michael (מיכאל)
מי = who [is]
כ = like
א-ל = G-d
Kayla is spelled with a ק, not a כ, so the root "like" isn't even in the picture...

I was confused by that, but then I searched some sites of baby name meanings and found that it could be a shortened version of Michaela, and Michael does mean that.
