My mother has had a couple of shailos on her chickens over the years. There was one time she described something to R' Dovid Feinstein and he said to cut out that part. There was another time she went back to the butcher with a whole chicken and he said the whole thing was treif and he took it back from her and threw it out. She told me that R' Reuven Feinstein holds that as long as the chicken has a good hechsher, you don't have to worry about anything, while R' Dovid holds that sometimes there could still be issues.
