I am looking into the subsidized learning options offered when making aliyah. I understand some hebrew but have difficulty reading and writing. Are there any English programs? I am looking more for courses offered such as book keeping, tutoring, or anything that does not take very long. I was considering doing this in the states but was advised to do my schooling in Israel rather? Im not looking to go into a whole career - basically just looking to get some training in a field to supplement income. I would be starting from scratch bc I dont have a BA in the states either. Does anyone have experience in this? Possibly any english programs??

What specifically are you looking to study?
I know david yellin college in jerusalem has an english tutor course as well as an english editing course (I believe that beit berel also has one of those).
These courses are one year long.

Maybe you should start with ulpan and then deal with (re)training? You're not going to find a bookkeeping job in English (straight bookkeeping) at most Israeli employers...

More looking into teaching, but if I need to change profession, then it will have to be. I'm not sure if my Montessori credentials will work over seas. :-/ with everything going on with what's happening in the US, we just need to go while we still can :-)

Why not consider opening your own Montessori gan? I would imagine there is more than enough demand.

Yes, it would be amazing. Unfortunately we are coming very limited in finances and I can only imagine with license, and health department and stuff we have to deal with, I would not mind partnering with someone who knows the ropes is Israel.
