Coffee is to me a nice hot beverage, more satisfying than tea, less fattening than cocoa, with a nice taste and better smell, that partners well with sweet mezonos, relaxation and friendly social interaction. That's all. It neither energizes me nor wakes me up if I'm tired nor makes me " happy" , seriously or otherwise. I enjoy drinking it, even more so when it comes with mezonos and good company, but that's all. Chicken soup would serve just as well if I didn't mind being fleishik all the time.
