Plum Amother above who works in medical billing in Lakewood, how many years experience do you have? Is this after working in this field a long time (as in what one can hope to make eventually after proving oneself and working one's way up) or is this standard salary for someone with just a couple years of experience?

I was responding to the op but honestly $16 an hour sounds great for a starting position in a new company. When I was looking for a job I was accepting $13 an hour becasue it was the only thing and that was considered high.
$15 is the norm. $16 is nice!
Also people make more the longer they are in the company and the more experience they have.

someone who has experience in their field should be making $16 an hour?

I dont know I was thinking $25- $30.

It depends what your experience is. And how many years.
But most office jobs (by office job I mean secretarial, billing, administrative etc) start very low. if the job is a higher position they may offer $15-$18. It may be for the first few months but it is very average for Brooklyn.

I manage an American company's Israel branch. I happen to put in a huge amount of hours but it's salaried so I can do less any day I want. I work from home as does the team I manage. 100% flexibility. $35K.

I hope you see this, can you pm me please? I'm looking for a job in Israel.

Thank G-D! I got a job Smile

Amothers, if you really qualified and go into that interview confident, you can do it!

there are jobs that aren't willing to offer $16 an hour.. but there are positions for qualified candidates that pay more. and they didn't seem to be very nice employers to work for her anyways..

Heres a tip I got when I was starting to look for a new job, and it really helped: Ask for at least 10k more than you want. (Don't say I want x/hour) Walk in asking for 55-60k they'll being you down to 45k, etc.

Hatzlacha to those of you who are looking
