For those of you who are saving for a house-
how much do you save monthly?
How much is in your savings?
We just got professional jobs (earning around 150k together) and are having our first baby. We are paying some student loans on an IBR plan.MY husband wants to put 3k a month in and I am wondering if that is a fair amount. We want to leave 10k in our checking account.

As everyone has a different budget, it will be a different amount for everyone. If you can put away that amount, great! At this point we are putting away 100$/month. But keep in mind our expenses may be quite different than yours. And income. Lol. I probably shouldn't have responded here. 3 children, renting, income of 50k.
