Am trying to decided if money wise its worth it for me to go to work....
How much do you pay your babysitter and how many kids does she have? and how does it work - do you pay over yom tov? you pay by the week/day/month? what if you don't send your child one week?

And how much do you pay for pre - nursery (2 yr old)?

Avg in Brooklyn $6/h
Avg in queens $8/h

Those are the places I know of.
It really varies by location

I have one child in playgroup, one by sitter. Playgroup I pay $450 per month including transportation regardless of how many days my child attends. Babysitter I pay $5 an hour but only for the hours my baby is there.

I have a 2 yr old in a daycare in Lakewood. The base hours that I pay for are from 9-3 and Friday 9-12. I pay $430/month for that regardless of how many days or hours she is there.

I pay 5 an hour for the babysitter, only the days she goes. I'm in lakewood and with hours 9:30-3 and Friday 9:30-12, I pay about 400 a month.

Brooklyn. Babysitter is about $6 per hour. At two, they usually go to playgroup or school or day care. I'm paying $3600 for sept-june for the two year old class in a school. 27 hours a week.

Chicago $500 a week for two kids (8 hours per day). It comes out to 12.50 per hour. Since I have two little kids it doesn't pay for me to send them out to a babysitter. She does get some cleaning done too.

Im in Brooklyn. I pay 585 a month for my two year old to be in preschool from 9-4. My baby is at a babysitter where I pay $5 an hr and I only pay when I send her. The babysitter watched approximately 7 kids.

Wow! My DD has a (private) playgroup for that age. Hours are from 9:15-2:15 and she charges $240/month. But she does follow the Bais Faiga calendar, so if you need more days than that I guess you have to pay more.

I have a 2yo in a Lakewood playgroup, hours 9:15 to 3:00 and I pay $300 a month no matter how many days my child attends.
