I've managed to get rust stains on several items of clothing after using my airer without realising it had gone rusty.
I've tried oxy powder without success.
Any ideas about how I can remove the stains?

Lavender, if you mean "Whink", beware. It is extremely corrosive and not something you really want to have around the house. See safety data sheet http://www.whink.com/cmssites/.....6.pdf
It's meant for bathtubs and the like, not fabric.

I don't live in the US and haven't seen any stain removal products here specifically for rust.
So it seems that OXY doesn't work and according to the link, I can't use bleach.

Try soaking in lemon juice or vinegar and then exposing to strong sunlight.

I used bleach on white shirt with rust stain, and it worked wonders! I didn't think I was gonna save this shirt but it worked.
