I was thinking about looking into writing workshops and looked up some old threads and found this:
http://www.imamother.com/forum.....kshop
As a writer and editor, I wouldn't recommend spending that much money on a writing course.
I haven't seen anyone really benefit substantially from any writing group, class or workshop.
What do people think? Any workshop suggestions? Thanks!

I think it's probably possible to gain or improve certain skills. I wouldn't go into it expecting an overhaul of your writing skills, style, etc.

I think you can gain a lot from connecting with other writers and participating in some kind of workshop situation, but I don't think it needs to be expensive. I agree that I wouldn't spend a lot of money on one, but I would spend a reasonable amount of time and a modest amount of money if I felt I wanted help and support to improve my writing.
