Does anyone know anything about them? I picked up some gum and candy with this hechsher on it in a few different kosher stores, but I can't find it on any of the kosher symbol lists I usually check. TIA.

It's considered a good hechsher.

It's definitely not a 'very good' hechsher, perhaps on par with OU or not even (maybe like star K and the like). As far as hechsherim go in London, the best an most heimish, accepted by everyone, is Kedassia. After that is KLBD - most chassidim (and plenty of non-chassidim) won't use it, especially not meat or complicated products. Then comes KF.

Are you saying star k is not a good hechser?

Define good. Or rather, is there any hechsher that you'll agree on not being good?

There are various levels of hechsherim, some are ivy league and some barely community college. While it's up to the individual to decide what's good enough for her, it'd be ridiculous to claim all hechsherim are as good as each other.

To use another analogy, Kedassia is like Rav Landau or Eidah Hachareidis, KLBD is like Rabanut Mehadrin, and KF is like basic Rabanut.

I would say star k is a reliable hechser. And wouldn't think twice about buying candy (or other stuff) with that hechser.

No, that's not quite accurate. Pretty much everyone uses kf for parev and dairy, even if they won't use for meat.
