My dd was just got accepted to elementary school for next year (Thank God). Along with the acceptance letter came a tuition contract that is WAY more than we can afford. Should I sign it anyway and ask for a scholarship in May or should I discuss finances now? I don't want to rock the boat but I don't want to commit to something I know in advance that I'm incapable of paying.

Congratulations on your daughter's acceptance!
Do not sign the contract right now if you know you will not be able to pay. Ask the school what the procedure is for applying for financial aid.

Dont sign it if you need a scholarship. Call and ask if there is a form to fill out. It should not affect your acceptance.
