I know there's a range out there but sometimes I'm shocked - they look so young! Do the 9 yr olds with pantyhose shave? Is it dependent on location? Worrying as I have a 7 yr old who is more physically mature than most her class - she looks 10. ...

Tights are sold from birth size on.
Do you mean sheer tights? When they're tall enough. Sometimes 8 sometimes 14. No they don't shave they are children. Why do you worry?

Do you mean in communities where they wear them for tzniut reasons?
Otherwise I would say, whenever the girls want to. Personaly my daughter sometimes wears them on shabbat. Other than that? never. She likes leggings more.
(I dont even own a pair of stockings at all  )

I see the girls wearing them at age 7/8/9 or whatever. Not for for us.
We'll look into it at 12/13.

DD will be 9 by this summer and no way will she be wearing pantyhose on Shabbos. Probably more like 12 or so. For now, it's going to be knee socks. The girls tend to wear smoother, less "sweater-y" socks on Shabbos. Last year the stores were selling smooth knee socks with a slight shimmer to them for Shabbos, in silvery and goldy types of tones.

I have never seen that type of knee sock for kids. I would love to get them for my girls. I feel like the more sweatery socks are kind of casual for Shabbos, and especially look out of place with a summery Shabbos outfit and Shabbos shoes. Do you know what brand(s) make(s) the socks you mentioned?

Yikes, I don't remember the company. They sold them in Hosiery Plus in Lakewood.
