My cousins are Teherani -sorry. Im big time askenazi. I have friends that are Meshadi.

My brother in law is. Since he married "out" I guess he is not so immersed in the culture lol. I used to work in a (mostly) Mashadi school.
I have a question - is it true that mashadi widows are not encouraged to remarry out of respect for their husbands? I read this is a book given out by the school I worked in. (maybe this is a feature of general Persian Jewry)
I do know a mashadi women who was widowed in her 30s or early 40s and never remarried.

Hi, I am mashadi and I never heard of anything like this before. I know of a few mashadi widows who remarried. I am curious to know, did you hear that about widowers also or only widows?
