My plan currently calls for 4 baskets in the pantry. What goes in them? Would you have less baskets and more shelves?
What about a bottle drawer -- is it a good idea? I also will have under sink drawers-- what would you out there?
All other words of kitchen design wisdom welcome.

It all depends on your space and how you use it.
I have my bottles within reach of the stove. In a special drawer.
Think about what you use, how much you have, and how you use it.
When you open a package of crackers, do you put it back in the pantry, do you transfer it to a plastic storage container, do you put the package in a box with other nosh items?
Don't do what's normal or what others do, do what works best for YOU.

I use the baskets in the pantry for potatoes, onions, garlic. I would definitely keep those. I am not sure what a bottle drawer is, so can't answer that.
