In my circles women don't do costumes for tznius reasons. Sure, people can dress up in their home or with family, but that's about it.

Help me brainstorm ideas that are in the fun spirit of Purim but subtle enough that they could work for women like me even when out in public.

Here are some general examples. Please post links if you find good ones!

My wig is long and dark, last year I bought a cheap blond bob with bangs for $20 and did makeup to match (nothing outlandish but a full face, smoky eye and pink lip) I got lots of double takes! I looked normal, I didn't look dressed up but just nothing like myself Ppl couldn't believe it was ME
It was great fun. Trick is to make it look believable like just to adopt a totally different look

One year my daughter and I dressed up as each other. Nothing crazy-- I wore my shaitel in a ponytail and her school sweatshirt, jeans skirt etc. She wore a tichel and heels. It was cute without being really obvious.

There were two middle aged ladies in my community with similar builds. They traded clothes, shoes and sheitels and traded seats in Shul for Megillah reading. (They anyway sit next to each other). Everyone did a double take or didn't even notice!
