DS will be dressed up as an Egyptian. We have the costume but are looking for footwear ideas. He can't go barefoot in this weather, and neither does he want to. Any ideas for appropriate foot/leg wear?

Or any sandals, if you're in a pinch. You could even take slippers and dress them up with some electrical tape.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm thinking about them.
Seeker, I love the electrical tape idea! Wouldn't the wrapped diamond shape pattern look too Roman? Any pattern that would work better?

I meant you can use those pictures as a template for more egyptian type sandals made out of electrical tape instead of the roman type criss coss

It's getting a bit problematic is he insists on wearing shoes and socks...
I'm thinking of regular shoes with the electrical tape 'design' going up the leg.
Problem is white or black socks will both looks odd...
I'm getting short of options. Sigh.

Do they sell tan socks for boys?
I would spray an old pair of shoes gold, electial tape "design" and tan socks
If he is not willing to do tan then just spray the shoe gold and maybe lengthen the costume so it meants the shoes
