making sesame stringbeans and dont want to leave everthing for Motzei shabb and purim itself, since it will be very busy with other things that have to be done then.

how early can I make the stringbeans that they will still be fresh?

will thursday night be too early? friday afternoon better? or is that also too early?

What about cutting off the ends in advance. (fresh stringbeans). Will that start the clock ticking on their fresh life?

I was thinking to cut off the ends on wed and prepare the sauce. Then I can put it in the sauce on friday and it will marinate till sunday when I put it in the oven.

How does that sound?

Is it too early to cut off ends today? will that shorten it's life?

also, should I cook it on thurs/fri and warm up on sunday? or just prepare in advance and cook on sunday right before seuda?

Thanks!

*I will post the recipe!

String beans are so easy to overcook. Prepare the sauce separately then quickly heat them up in a saucepan just before serving. They need crunch and color.

Sesame Stringbeans:

Sauce is equal amounts of:
Oil
Sugar
Soy sauce

Place fresh string beans in foil pan. Pour sauce and toss to coat. Bake covered for 20-30 minutes. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Enjoy! It's delicious!

Use some toasted sesame oil for added flavor.

I make a similar dish, but (1) I steam the green beans in the microwave, then coat with sauce; (2) I don't use sugar, IMNSHO, its completely unnecessary.

Do the sesame seeds go on whilst in oven or added just before serving?

Before serving. You want them crunchy.
