My extremely intense and bright 7 year old is overwhelmed with her anger and temper (as am I Wink ).
She is mature and understands that it's a difficult middah and is open to discussing how she needs to work on it.

I work very hard to help her see this, not as something that defines her, but something that is part of her. And that Hashem just expects her to work on it. And that the fact that she is self aware at such a young age is amazing...etc.

She is very open to working on it but lacks a lot of emotional verbal language.

For example, when I explained that to combat losing ones temper, we need to first recognize when we begin to feel angry, and I asked her what angry feels like, she didn't really understand what I was saying. But she did say she wants to work on it and I told her I will look for a book so we can work on it together (I am very open about my struggle to work on my temper as well).

What are some good book recommendations for this age? Jewish would be a plus but not necessary.
Thanks in advance!

is this the one that also has a book on anxiety? the name of the series is escaping me now, maybe it is the one you are mentioning. when I worked in a mental health clinic I used them with my children clients and it was great!

I would start with myself. Children learn from the adults how to deal with their emotions.

Soda pop head has very vivid imagery and really helps define and explain anger to a child that age. I've used it with teens as well
