I don't wear maxis in winter but in spring/summer I used to wear maxi dresses with shells underneath. By maxi I mean approximately ankle length. I love the style but notice very very few other women wearing them and was wondering if there was anything 'wrong' with it (FWIW I am Lubavitch... wouldn't wear maxis if I were in a 'strict' community where it is 'not done).

Are there any other women here who wear maxi dresses for shabbes/weekday?

Thanks in advance!!

I think they are fine. Assuming the neckline isn't a plunging v and the straps are not super thin. I don't see a problem with a dress that is full length just because it is full length.

Target is a great place and for nursing. You can wear a cardigan over it and pull down

I do, mostly in the summer but I have a couple of winter ones too. I look better in long than short. Most people around me don't really wear them other than for shabbos, though.

I do. Weedkday as an outfit, shabbos as a robe.

Pull down what? The neckline? Theres no way it'll pull down low enough to nurse, if it's a kosher neckline.

Most of mine I bought last year or 2 years ago. I have a couple from Burlington that were about 25 dollars and are really pretty. I also have a nice one from sears.....I am nursing now so some of them are easier than others. I wear a shell under and I have a couple that aren't tight so I can just slip my hand out.

I can do a Google search there are many very pretty ones out there. My siblings have also got nice ones in dress barn. They really sell them everywhere.

I love maxi dresses and skirts. I look a lot better in long than short. I wear it on Friday night (robe equivalent, I don't do robes), and more casual ones during the week. I wish it were more accepted to wear maxi dresses on shabbos day, especially since I just bought a gorgeous dress, but I think it would be looked upon as strange.

Yes!
In my house I wear them most Shabbasim and when I want to be comfortable after a shower etc.
I wear them all day every day in the summer. With sandals and no tights - super comfy in the heat.

I wear Friday night. I pull the shoulder strap down off my arm - easy to nurse with a shell underneath.
