Not a simple as you make it sound;)
Supposedly there was a change of ownership to the building and the new owner wanted to increase the rent exponentially and it went downhill from there.

I see. I dont know what they were paying before and what they were raised to, but many stores stay vacant for a long time when a commercial tenant moves out. Like a year or more.

My friend worked in the office till the day it closed and she said their lease was up.
Fyi rent on 13 th Ave for a store as big as lanes pharmacy the rent is 16-18k! My friend who owns a store on 13th Ave said it took her a year to find a place that was reasonable.

No connection.
The BP location of Gourmet Glatt has never done well but bh they are very successful at their other locations.

I don't think it's about doing good or not. The new landlord wanted them out so he can rebuild or something but they didnt leave until they were evicted by the city marshaks.

Businesses making a profit, where the owners see potential/future growth, relocate. They dont just close.

I just hope it wont be replaced with another bank.

Wondering if the glut of supermarkets in BP will end with a Supermarket war where they kill one another off and we'll end up with too few supermarkets and way too many banks who can well afford the rent.

I think that anyone who knows the supermarket business well, will reopen elsewhere.
