Hi. I'd appreciate help outfitting my kids for Pesach (I know I'm on the late side; been really busy with a newborn).
I have a 2 year old daughter that is average height, but very skinny.
My baby is a boy, and he's 1 month old now.
My budget is really tight, and I really don't want to spend a lot. $40 is the most I'd spend on an outfit now, but I really want to try to keep it more in the $30 range. TIA!

Where are you located? And can you get out or do you only want to shop online?

Hi mommy3b2c! I'm from the late shoppers! I would really appreciate advice. I'm looking for a weekday top for spring-summer for 4 boys. Size 4,7,10,12. The 4 year old doesn't need to be the same as 3 older ones. I want to use it for chol hamoad.
I'm spending the least possible. Maybe 20-25 dollars a top.
Thanks so much!!!! Links appreciated!!!

Boro park. I like to avoid the local stores... Also, they're selling knit sets for baby for close to $100 locally. And they think you're nuts when you say you want something elegant for $30.
Just to give an idea of what I like -love this dress, but it's out of stock. http://us.nextdirect.com/en/g6a200s3
I like floral prints for my daughter, but it doesn't have to be.

Oh, I'm glad this thread got bumped up because I was looking for it earlier and got distracted before I found it!
Anyone who was interested in Children's Place ought to know that they dropped some of their prices further today! One of the dresses I was looking at is down near $10 so I went ahead with the buy even though I was thinking I could get through without it... it wasn't my favorite but it was the kids' so we're even. I took them into a TCP store we passed by to check the sizes just in case. The dresses I looked at seemed to run pretty short but the cut seemed like sizing up would work well. It also looks like some of these styles could be added to at the bottom without much difficulty. I only measured by holding them up against my kids, not actually trying them on, so I hope I ordered the right sizes. For reference: Size 10 seemed to comfortably cover the knees of my average-on-the-small-side 6-year-old (size 8 also seemed like it would come to the knees or maybe just a bit past but I want it to last a little) and size 8 seemed to do the same for my average-on-the-tall-side 4-year-old, though I probably should have ordered a 5/6 as well just in case. I did get a 12 so they can still match next year after they grow FORWARD THINKING MAMA FTW!!! So not like me

I like the first one the best. It is a little matchy-matchy but little girls will just LOVE it!
If you dont want to have to start matching outfit to hair accessories, get the white one. chances are you will get more use out of it. (at that price I'd buy 4 b/c one is bound to break...)

I thought of that, white can go with a lot of things, but wouldn't it get grungy fast? Can you wash a white headband?
BTW $3.47 or whatever it was, is a pretty common sale price for headbands at Children's Place.

Did you ever try these headbands?
My daughter can't wear headbands without teeth, they slip right off.
Basic Colors usually has headbands with teeth for six dollars.

you can't wash a white headband as far as I know, but any light color will get grungy- even light blue
this is a headband my daughters like - it has the teeth and the lace will match the flower on the waist band but it is 11.99.

did you consider doing a hair clip or bow? those stay in better condition because unlike headbands they are not usually being touched and put in and out of the hair so frequently.

I'd love a clip or bow but TCP only had headbands and I wasn't looking to go shopping around at this point. I have other things to do two weeks before Pesach!

I hear ya!
you can get real cheap bows on amazon. but go with white or the colors may not be right and will only end up clashing.

I bought this dress: http://www.childrensplace.com/.....01027
they had a baby a toddler and a big girl so all my girls will be matching the only problem is the big girl one is to short so I bought a second one to make it longer what do u suggest I do to make it longer using the material of the second dress
thanks |
I almost bought that same dress for my girls for the same reason, it comes in all sizes. But I decided doing the alterations would end up being too expensive so I didn't get it . Can you have a seamstress cut off the top metallic part and use it to add a strip at the bottom? Not sure how it would look but I think that's really the only way to lengthen it with the 2nd dress.
