I suspect Aspergers in 11 year old DS. How do I go about receiving a diagnosis and who do I go to for help?
Thanks.

Neuropsychologist. If you live in NY or Lakewood I have a few names I can pass on but have not used personally, heard they are very good.

Just for your info. Nowadays the term aspergers has dissapeared. It all falls under the category of ASD. Aspergers was being used for the high functioning on the spectrum.
The main red flags are: poor body language, poor interaction with children of the same age, hard with emotions
Good luck in all u do

The word I've heard from Lakewood is that Tzipora Koslowitz is tops. You will probably pay well for it but may be worth it because IMO a suspicion of Asperger's is in this gray zone that warrants good detective work.
Amother, thanks for the clarification about ASD, definitely useful for anyone following this thread. Personally I still feel comfortable saying Asperger's "off the record" because I think it does describe a certain subset of people with ASD. The designation was nixed mostly because there were too many people mixing it up, in addition to the disagreement about whether such a thing exists in the first place - whether it exists is arguable, that it was creating confusion is true without question! Back to OP, now...

Sorry op if this is a little off topic, but seeker, would you say that people who used to be called Aspergers before are now called Autistic or Normal?

Natural amother, those who used to be diagnosed as having Aspergers are now considered to have ASD (autism spectrum disorder). They are not generally considered to be neurotypical.
The terms Autistic and Normal can both be felt as slightly off putting, or mildly offensive these days.
