I imagine it varies depending on where you live. I live in Manhattan and can tell you what I paid if that would be helpful

Depends on how many hours you would be sending. I am a babysitter (first year so charging $5/hr as opposed to $6 or $7 in my area) and the 2 kids I watch (wanted small) one comes out to $345/month for 9-1:30 2 days a week and 9-1 the other 2 days and the other pays $425 a month from 12-6 2 days a week and 12-4:30 the other 2 days.

Well the daycare I am looking into has a minimum of hours but I'd be sending from about 8-4. I just worry it won't be worth it for me to continue working if I'd end up spending most of my salary on daycare anyway.

Depends what sort of work you're doing. If you're in a role requiring minimal education and training and has little opportunity for growth, than it may not pay. But if you work in a field that has potential for growth, leaving the work force can cost you your future earnings. Plus I imagine your job may have other benefits (Heath insurance, etc)

My dd attends childcare in Toronto. Daycare costs depend the type of childcare you choose, the number of hours and the level of staff training, and activities they offer.
