We're considering moving to Netanya, specifically to Kiryat Hasharon. Does anyone here know anything about it? (Yes we've read everything NBN wrote as well as contacted their contact, but I was also interested to hear any more insights.) Thx!

Depends. What are you looking for? What do you need from a place?

Netanya proper is insanely expensive. It's also not included under the Go North program, so you won't get any financial assistance if you move there.

Check out some of the smaller communities that are on the coast and train line. If you need to work in Netanya, you can get there very easily by train or bus. Smaller communities can be more welcoming, the Anglos really stick together, and it will make a "softer landing". In a big city, you can feel lost in the crowd.

I live in Nahariya, but there are many lovely areas between here and Netanya. Definitely worth checking out. Not to mention, the rent is WAY cheaper.

Contact Tzippy Oppenheimer for more info. tzippy@nbn.org.il She's the coordinator for Go North cities, and extremely helpful.
