I'm looking for ideas for a staycation with kids during the summer. Obviously, we'll go on day trips whenever we can, but for various reasons these may be limited.
Looking for fun activities that we can do at home with pre-teen boys.

Do you have a backyard? If so a pool might keep them busy for hours. Are they crafty? Would they enjoy science experiments? Building stuff with wood? Can they be trusted with cooking? Can you go to local museums, most have free days/afternoons. Will they be in daycamp for part of the day or nothing at all?
There are tons of mommy camp ideas out there, just do some googling.

Can you cook or bake and freeze for the yom tovim in Tishrei? You can also make sukkah decorations if they like to do crafts? How about planting flowers?

Garden. Now is the perfect time to start from seeds - vegetables are so much fun. Do lots of cucumbers and then you can also pickle them.
