My uni was brand new. The only thing was indeed, some of the doors opened by movement. But the rest? Unheard of. Oh, also we had elevators but also stairs.
I don't know if people brought up that you can't carry unless you can find a rav to make an eruv or something.
Shabbes in a hotel room is extremely frustrating, plus eating cold, no lighting candles... I dunno... BTDT, but urgh. A certain Hanuka someone lit inside and it triggered the fire detector alarm
My husband was O_O seeing that even chedarim had electronic things and all in America, as opposed to white or black board and books.
