I want to make a strawberry cheesecake that calls for strawberry puree (blended strawberries with sugar) Does anyone know if that would work? It would make the recipe so much easier!

Strawberry pie filling has some sort of thickener (like corn starch) and is much thicker than a purée so I don't think it will work

You could try strawberry syrup but it may be too thin.
(I know it seems like a pain -and I'm writing this as someone who uses apple pie filling in my cran-apple crunch - but strawberry syrup is so easy to make and if you put it in a squeezy bottle in the fridge it can be used to fancy up any dessert).
