How can I take a standard cheesecake recipe and make it marbled with cocoa (not syrup) (do I need to mix the cocoa with hot water to make a paste and then do it? Add sugar?
Anyone who is experienced doing this please advise.
Thanks.

It's simple. You just take a little of the cheesecake batter and add cocoa to taste. Mix thoroughly. If you prefer the marble to be a bit sweeter, add a small amount of sugar. Then you plop it on top of the cheesecake and marble with a knife.

leave a couple of spoons of your cheesecake batter aside ... to that add a spoon or two of cocoa & a little sugar [I also add a drop of milk to help make it smooth] now you drizzle and/or dollop it over the top of your white part then swirl it around with fork tines to make it look nice without mixing too much
