I have been looking unsuccessfully for a puddle jumper or flotation device for my tall dc who weighs 55 lbs. The smaller ones go to 50 lbs. The Stearns one which makes a youth size does not fit even though it says up to 90 lbs. This is not a substitute for my parental supervision. It's to give me extra peace of mind when dc is in pool in country. Dc does not know how to swim at all. Does anyone have any good experience with this and can please help me?

REI will have them, or any nautical supply shop. Places where boaters and fishermen shop will sell them, probably less expensive than REI. Either way, you can be sure that they will be top rated for safety.
Don't be tempted by cheaper, cuter ones. You get what you pay for, and too many tragedies CVS happen in the water every Summer.
