I found a recipe for a watermelon salad with mint and feta cheese. Would this be weird as part of dessert (cheesecake, etc.)? It does not go with my entree.

I wouldnt. Feta cheese at dessert is a little weird, IMO. But the watermelon sounds great Smile

Sounds more like a starter.

basil has a salad like this which is weird but surprisingly delicious and refreshing. for your meal serve as salad or side, it's not a dessert

You can leave out the feta and serve the watermelon with mint, lime juice, a drop of salt ( and if you want to make it alcoholic, add tequila)

Thanks all! Love the notion of tequila but hate the reality. Will let you know...

It's a common dessert in Israel.

The salty-sweet-cold combination is very refreshing in the blazing hot summer.

Thanks Dr. Mom!! May take the chance or may just serve it to family on second day. Yes, we are that oddity that serves only milchigs for Shavuot (I love the change).

Irony! The watermelon was not so nice when we cut into it so I did not serve it. Oh well. Next time

Sorry it didn't work out!

BTW, I don't think serving only milchig on Shavout is weird at all.
