Where should I keep my infant when my 3 yr old is on the loose?
My three yr old loves his sister but doesn't know how to regulate his excitement, which can come in the form of a huge kiss, shaking the swig/bassinet, throwing a toy in baby's direction.... You get my drift...
So if I cannot be holding the baby (if I want to cook dinner, for example), where is a safe place to keep her?

Good idea!
What's the youngest age at which I can do that? Baby is two weeks old.

As long as the toddler can't climb in, I'd start now. That's assuming that it has a sturdy bottom and no loose bedding, etc. you can also put a bouncy seat or carseat inside it. I find it a great way to have safe tummy time.

At this stage at no time can you leave the 3 year old with the baby alone in a room even if the baby is in a playpen. Because the toddler can still throw things at the baby even in the playpen. Put the baby in her cot or pram in a different room from where the toddler is.

I would be in the same room, but I wouldn't be actually holding the baby. I'd put the playpen in the kitchen.
