All designers and people with good eyes:
What color paint for a small playroom? It has to be a light color so the room doesn't look too dark, but I don't want it to always look dirty.

What about a neutral for the master bedroom that matches dark brown furniture and gold / yellow / tan / blue linen?

I would do a marigold-type color for playroom, like this one, citrus blast:

For a bedroom like the one you describe, I would do a taupe-like color, like this:

I love linen white for master. IF you like more grayish/beighish go for edgecomb gray.

Edgecomb gray is a nice color, but she has more earthy linen, with golds and yellows and browns. Personal opinion, head more to the beige side than the gray.

Thanks all! The marigold is a little too bright for my tastes. And wouldn't it overwhelm a small room? I like the beige tone for master BR

Yes, I was imagining a big play room.. The one I dream of. Smile

I have a small playroom now and have a lovely green color. Looks awesome with the kids toys. Maybe such an idea:

I'd go with blue.

For playroom, I agree with blue (is that any surprise? Smile )
Mine is painted "scuba green" (it looks like Tiffany blue) by sherwin Williams (I think; it might be benjamin Moore), but that might be too bright for you. If you want more subtle but still with color, go with something like benjamin Moore gray wisp or Wedgewood gray, or robins nest.

For bedroom, I agree with taupe.
Perhaps benjamin Moore smokey taupe.
