Well it's not exactly the December solstice is it? I prefer long sunny days. I live in a northern latitude where my autumn and winter daylight hours are relatively short.

I was a rotten mother, I would start bedtimes 15 minutes earlier after the summer solstice. I'd do the same on the first of each month there after until Sept. (Anyone under 13.)

Ah the perfect descriptor. Yes fall is glorious. Starting today the light will begin to change and take on the colors of a Maxfield Parrish painting at sunset and during the day the glow of the plein air painter. Except for the heat it is my favorite time of year.

On the flip side, more time to sit and read after the meal Friday night, and enough time after Shabbos to do more than clean up before going to bed!
