I'm finally taking down my winter stuff 
I don't need the smell though.
Any ideas appreciated.

Keep the basement clean and ventilated. If the room is not musty the clothes will not become musty. Same as with freezer taste. If freezer is clean and food packaged probably it doesn't get freezer taste.

No windows and the dehumidifier belongs to condo so it's on only on thier terms.

Buy a dehumidifier for yourself. Install an exhaust/light fixture.
Vacuum seal clothes along with freshener sheets. Then further seal the wrapped clothes in an airtight storage container.
