A well stocked kitchen?

I want to hear from people who have a well stocked pantry and fridge. What foods do you purchase/cook/ bake on a regular basis and always have around?

I think I do, but it would really depend on your families needs and preferences...
I have a lot of roasted and sautéed veggies all the time
2 full drawers of fresh fruits and veggies
Case or 2 of sports cap water bottles
Cans of tomato sauce, sardines, mayonnaise,
Frozen fruits for smoothies
Frozen vegetables
Always have some dairy like hard cheeses, and milk
Paper goods by the case in storage
I bake a lot of salmon on regular basis but I order fresh...

we always have the things we eat/use a lot of. cereal, crackers, milk, almond milk, eggs, spices, yogurt, ice cream, flour, sugar, oil, veggies (especially cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and lettuce), condiments, animal crackers, fresh & dried fruit (especially apples & raisins), string cheese, sliced cheese, shredded cheese, pizza sauce, canned tomatoes, canned corn, some kind of frozen veggie, wraps, bread (sliced or english muffins or bagels), and veggie burgers.
I think those are the things we try to always have in stock. As for freezing and storing things I don't have much freezer space so I don't usually do much of that but I try to have at least one or two nights worth of meals frozen in there for when I'm too tired or busy and I only make challah every other week because I'll double and keep half in there for the next week.

It will vary based on your family's eating habits. We do 1 large purchase a week, checking all categories for restocking needs before each weekly shopping.

Rice, pasta, barley, beans
Breadcrumbs, cornflake crumbs
Ketchup, mayo, mustard, tomato sauce
Yogurts, cheeses, milk, eggs
Meat, poultry and fish for a full week's menu plus 1 extra
Bread, cereal, matzah
Fruits and veggies that can last a week (including some frozen)
Onion, garlic, potatoes, sweet potatoes
Oil, spices, salt
Sugar, flour, yeast
Snacks and drinks
Coffee, tea, honey
Some ready freezer items like fries and ices
Papergoods, food storage bags, foil, parchment
Tissues, paper towels
Candles, candle holders, matches
Cleaning, detergents, toiletries

Yogurt, granola, frozen cherries, Ezekiel bread, peanut butter, frozen fruit for smoothie and protein shakes, Persian cucumbers, frozen veggie Burgers ( store bought), bananas. Cottage cheese, Edam cheese.

We're a young, small family, so I don't need to stock all that much, but I almost always have:
Frozen Baked goods (cookies of some sort)
Frozen meatballs in individual portions
Frozen chicken legs
Frozen pre made breaded flounder
Frozen veggies
(Frozen hot dogs if Dh does the shopping Wink )
Frozen challah
Frozen matzah balls
Lately I've been pre seasoning chicken and salmon and then freezing it

I do exact the same!! And I have the same list!

Sure. I have in freezer weekday soups, ready mixed meatballs not cooked, but ready to throw in, chicken soup, challahs, baked goods, like marble cake, cupcakes, chocolate rugalech,

Obviously before a yontf I have much more stuff. Not always I have everything at once.

Similar to this list.

I have raw chicken breast and leg.
Defrost, some spices and bake, or salt and grill on the George Forman, or fry. Not more than 10 minute prep of chicken is well defrosted.
Raw ground chicken mixture, ready to fry/grill/bake in patties or loaf or in sauce w spagetti
Veggy soup
Cream of chicken soup
Other cream soups (we love those)(broccoli, squash...)
Chichen soup.
Frozen pizza (for lunch)
Frozen fruits and veggies
Ices ice cream
Ready sauteed onions to use in recipes.
Store bought sauteed onions for scrambles eggs or when a smaller qtty is needed.
Compote


I do not freeze cooked chicken, meat or any ready food other than soup and compote.
They get freezer burn taste. And even if not, food never tastes the same freshly baked/cooked. My mushigas. Postpartum I did though.

My sister freezes lukshen, farfel, potato kugel and lukshen kugel. Cleamed chicken, all ready in covered pans ready to stick in the oven amd stuff like that.

Op, I know that's not what u intended.. but thanks u everyone for your lists!!!! I just made a master list, and it feels so good.

Now I'd like a master list for ready made food like op originally intended. Very Happy

I don't have a big freezer so apart from frozen veggies/fruits and meat/poultry/fish, I only freeze challos- I bake them every other week. Sometimes meatballs when I do a lot.

For the people who freeze chicken soup, how do you store it? Can you put a picture of the boxes? Thanks!

I have a huge freezer in my basement and constantly keep it stocked. Now that im pregnant and due during the summer and will be post partum during a bz season of begining of school year and erev yomim tovim I've been really going crazy. Lol

Chicken soup (tons)
Challa (lots)
Lukshen for shbs soup
Lukshen kugels
Vegetable kugel
Potatoe ramekins
Sauteed onions in small containers
Sauteed cabbage for pasta
Lots of simple cakes ( brownie, marble,coffee...)
Cookies about 10 in a bag
Cherry pie
Cooked stuffed cabbage

I also froze lots of raw ready to bake chicken suppers. Like chicken with chopped onions and spices all I have to do is add rice and water and bake, or breaded chicken bottoms ready to bake..

I freeze in plastic tubs or soup bags. (they are flat on the bottom) Sometimes regular food bags, doubled. I only freeze the soup, no chicken or veggies.
